SUMMERSIDE – The P.E.I. School Athletic Association rugby season will resume this week.
Last week’s games were cancelled after Montague Vikings’ player Brodie McCarthy passed away suffering a serious head injury in a game during the 22nd annual David Voye Memorial rugby tournament at Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside on May 11.
The PEISAA announced on Tuesday that games could resume as early as Wednesday. Teams will play a shortened schedule as games that were to be played last week will not be made up. A revised schedule is being finalized.
The provincial championships are still scheduled to be decided the first week of June.
