CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Nikita Kasongo had 20 points and 14 boards to pace the first-place Saint Mary’s Huskies to an 83-68 win Friday over the UPEI Panthers in Atlantic University Sport men’s basketball action.
Nico Brauner had 16 points in the win while Kemar Alleyne added 14 points and nine rebounds.
Milorad Sedlarevic had 19 points to lead the Panthers while Dakelle Brooks had 11 and Amin Suleman nine.
The Huskies held 25-15, 47-32 and 67-45 quarter leads.
The Panthers shot 31 per cent (25-for-80) from the field, 24 per cent (6-for-25) on threes and hit half of their 24 free throws.
Saint Mary’s improved to 4-0 while UPEI (3-2) is in a three-way tie for second place.
The teams play Saturday at 8 p.m.
