CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Island Storm used a big second half to win its final game of the National Basketball League of Canada season.
The Storm outscored the Saint John Riptide by 30 in the final 24 minutes to win 128-98 at the Eastlink Centre. The Storm had already been eliminated from playoff contention.
Tyree White had 15 assists, 14 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and a steal in the victory while Guillaume Boucard had 21 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Malik Story and Robbie Robinson each chipped in 17 points off the bench while Kyle Arseneault had 16.
Darnell Landon had a game-high 25 points to lead the Riptide while former Storm guard Kemy Osse had 18 points, nine assists, six rebounds and two steals.
The Storm shot 42 per cent (15-for-36) from three-point territory with Story and Arseneault each connecting on four treys.
The Riptide led 29-27 after the first quarter but the game was tied at 56 at the half. The Storm took a 94-72 lead to the fourth quarter.
The Storm improved to 12-28 while Saint John is 17-23.
The franchise will host a reception Monday at 7 p.m. at the St. John Ambulance building, located at 410 Mount Edward Rd., Charlottetown.
