RED DEER, Alta. — The Holland College Hurricanes men’s volleyball team completed their season on Saturday with a 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-19 and 25-18) loss to the Humber College Hawks to finish eighth in the country.

The Hurricanes went 0-3 at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) championship in Red Deer, Alta.
Brett Butler led Holland College with 15 kills while Simon Archibald had five digs. Nicholas Menzies was the player of the game for the Hurricanes.

Dylan Devecseri (12 kills) and Edua Silva Ferreira and Kamyn Wilkins (each with nine digs) were the Hawks leaders.

The Hurricanes finished the regular season with an 8-7 record in Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) competition and entered the playoffs in third place.

At the conference championships, hosted by Holland College, the ’Canes defeated the No. 2 seeded UNBSJ Seawolves in the semifinal before claiming their second conference championship in team history by defeating the top-seeded St. Thomas Tommies 3-1.
