Tignish’s Tori Hogan of the Acadia Axewomen rugby team has been named the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 7.

A first-year winger, Hogan received the honour following the Axewomen’s 57-12 win over UPEI Saturday in Charlottetown.

She scored two tries and one conversion in the Acadia victory as the team improved to 4-1.

Hogan currently leads the AUS with 54 points (six tries and 13 conversions).

Meanwhile, Marc-Anthony Therrien of the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus men’s hockey team has been named the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week.

A fourth-year forward from Nicolet, Que., Therrien scored twice in Moncton’s 3-2 win over the St. F.X. X-Men Friday night in Moncton, N.B.

He was named player of the game for his efforts. The win marked the Aigles Bleus’ first win on home ice since Dec. 1, 2017.
