The Onion golf tournament raises more than $56,000 in support of hospice and palliative care in P.E.I.

LAKESIDE, P.E.I. — The Mount made their tourney debut a winning one as the team captained by Paul Jenkins fired a record-tying 55 to finish on top of the leaderboard at the 11th annual Brian McGuire Memorial Golf Tournament (The Onion) held Aug. 10 at the Links at Crowbush Cove.

Honorary tourney chairwoman Dr. Mireille Lecours, provincial palliative care co-ordinator, presented the trophy to the winning team which was making its first appearance in the charity event in support of hospice and palliative care across the province.

More than $56,000 was raised by the tourney, pushing its 11-year total to more than $413,000.
