MONCTON, N.B. — Guillaume Boucard missed a layup with one second remaining as the Island Storm lost 121-120 Sunday in Moncton.
Trey Kell hit a trey with seconds left to give the host Magic the lead and erase a 19-point second quarter deficit in National Basketball League of Canada play.
The top-ranked Magic improved to 20-10 while the Storm (5-22) dropped its seventh straight game.
Kell had 40 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists to pace the attack. Billy White had 23 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Boucard led the Storm with 32 points, seven assists, six rebounds and two steals while Alex Campbell scored 30 points and Tyree White had 26 points and 17 rebounds.
The Storm hosts the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans Thursday at 7 p.m.
