CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Milorad Sedlarevic had 25 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a steal in 39 minutes in his final home game Saturday to lead the UPEI Panthers to a 91-85 victory over the Acadia Axemen.
The fifth-year Panthers forward from Slovenia went 6-for-7 from three-point territory during the Atlantic University Sport men’s basketball contest.
The bench had a big game as Dakelle Brooke had 22 points while Jamesley Jerome and Amin Suleman went for 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Samuel Campbell had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Ben Miller led Acadia with 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block while Nick De Palma scored 16 points and Junior Moaku-Matia had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Panthers held 22-15, 47-41 and 68-64 quarter leads.
UPEI improved to 5-13 and are four points back of Acadia (6-13) and Memorial (6-11) for the final playoff berth. The Panthers finish the season on the road next weekend at Cape Breton on Friday and St. FX on Saturday.
