CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Kiera Rigby scored eight of her team-high 17 points in the fourth quarter as the UPEI Panthers defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks 61-59 Saturday in Atlantic University Sport women’s basketball action.

Point guard Jenna Mae Ellsworth had 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in the win while centre Carolina Del Santo hauled in 24 boards to go with 12 points, six steals, four blocks and three dimes.

Brooklyn Wright had a game-high 20 points for the Sea-Hawks while Jane Baird chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds.

Memorial led 23-20 after the first quarter, but trailed 36-32 at the half. They regained the lead (47-46) heading to the fourth.

UPEI improved to 8-7, six points up on Memorial (7-8). The teams play Sunday at 1 p.m.
