HALIFAX, N.S. – Lauren Fleming had 13 points off the bench to lead the UPEI Panthers in scoring in a 69-46 victory over the Saint Mary’s Huskies Friday in Atlantic University Sport women’s basketball action.
The Panthers improved to 8-1 while the Huskies fall to 1-8.
Carolina Del Santo had 14 rebounds and 11 points to go with two assists and a steal for the visitors. Jane McLaughlin scored 12 points while Reese Baxendale had 10 and Jenna Mae Ellsworth nine points and eight rebounds.
Alaina McMillan had a team-high nine points for Saint Mary’s.
The Panthers held 18-7, 37-18 and 54-29 quarter leads.
The teams play again Saturday in Halifax at 6 p.m.
