SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — With a first-over charge heading to the half, Na Naa Said So wore down her front-end foes and earned the lion’s share in the biggest stake race of the afternoon Sunday at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

Woodmere Skyroller was the first to the front in the afternoon’s mega-stakes card finale in the lone Lady Slipper gold division carrying a $21,000 purse. Gilles Barrieau kept Woodmere Skyroller in motion with splits of 29.2 and 59 then 13-1 shot Na Naa Said So was launched to the outside by driver Adam Merner and battled to the three-quarters in 1:29.3 before taking over the lead. She had to win the stretch drive over Watch Me Dance (Jason Hughes) in 1:59.1 while Woodmere Skyroller hung on for third. A two-year-old daughter of Westwardho Hanover, Na Naa Said So is trained by Robert MacLeod for owners Hugh MacEachern of Inverness, N.S., and Ali MacEachern of Truro, N.S.

The 10-dash card featured a stakes event in every race, including a pair of $11,000 Joe O’Brien memorial gold divisions for two-year-old pacing colts. Woodmere Rollnpop won his split in 1:58.1 for trainer-driver Clare MacDonald and owners Morah Kerr of Greenfield and Phonsie MacEachern of Port Hood, N.S. Second went to Mr Kelly (Merner) while Red Dirt Fulofhart (David Dowling) was third.

Tobins Rebel kept his perfect career intact in the other O’Brien gold division, winning his fifth lifetime start in 1:58.1 by three-and-three-quarter lengths. U Bettim Watching (Kenny Arsenault) earned second place with Krispy Krunch (Mike McGuigan) completing the triactor ticket. Barrieau trains and drives Tobins Rebel for owner Daniel Ross of Belfast.

Trainer Earl Watts had two wins on the card as Windemere Frank (Dowling) captured a $7,000 O’Brien grassroots stake in 2:03.1 and Windemere Mcseek (Dowling) won in 2:03 in a $7,000 Lady Slipper grassroots division for rookie fillies.
