CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The stakes trial continues tonight with the Lady Slipper stakes at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park (CDP).

The 13-dash program gets underway at 6:30 p.m. featuring Lady Slipper trot divisions for two- and three-year-olds. The first split hits the track in Race 2 with a group of six rookies trotters vying for a $7,500 prize. The field is completely populated by progeny of Armbro Barrister with him siring all the entrants.

Now Look At Here is the morning-line choice in the contest for driver Brian MacPhee, trainer Ambyr Campbell and owner Ambrose Laybolt of Morell.

The other two-year-old division also carries a $7,500 purse in Race 4 as Dusty Lane Titan gets the nod as the favourite from the stable of trainer Marc Campbell, who also drives the son of Tad The Stud for owner Grayland Farm of Pugwash, N.S.

The sophomore trotting divisions start in Race 6 with West River Cindy the top entrant from Post 4 in the $7,600 race. Trainer Clare MacDonald will be in the bike behind West River Cindy for the first time this season for owner Haley Shepherd of Stratford. MacDonald’s husband, Ken MacDonald, has ably handled the reins of the daughter of Armbro Barrister to a not-worse-than second record in 2018.

The finale Lady Slipper three-year-old division is in Race 8 as last year’s top two trotters will meet again this season. Triple crown winner Windemeredontuworry has Post 2 with Gilles Barrieau in the bike for trainer and co-owner Terry Gallant and co-owner Eric Johnston, both of Summerside. Buckaroo holds the two-year-old track trotting record in Charlottetown and gets Post 3 this week for trainer-driver Campbell as second choice.
