HALIFAX, N.S. – Carolina Del Santo had 20 points and 18 rebounds to lead the UPEI Panthers to a 72-65 victory over the Saint Mary’s Huskies Saturday in Atlantic University Sport women’s basketball action.
Jenna Mae Ellsworth had 19 points while Kimeshia Henry chipped in 11 points off the bench in the road win.
Kendra MacKinnon led the Huskies with 16 points off the bench.
UPEI held 16-13, 32-25 and 51-42 quarter leads. It was the Panthers seventh straight win to improve to a 9-1. They are tied atop the conference standings with Cape Breton with 22 points but have the tie-breaker after beating the Capers head-to-head earlier this month in Charlottetown.
The Huskies are 1-9 and sit seventh in the conference.
