SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – Stratford’s Ashley Hollis had an assist Saturday in the Atlantic Attack’s 8-7 shootout loss to the Richmond Hill Lightning in National Ringette League action in Summerside.
The Attack bounced back to defeat the Lighting 5-3 Saturday as the teams completed a two-game series during the Atlantic Canadian Ringette Championships.
Game 1 was finally decided following a back-and-forth shootout that required 13 rounds. Shelby Stinson scored to seal the shootout win.
Martine Caissie scored a hat trick for the Attack while Britney Snowdon had a goal and three assists. Miguelle Proulx had two goals and an assist while Dominik LeBlanc had a goal and two assists.
In Game 2, the Attack struck early with Jenny Snowdon putting the home team on the board to lead 3-1 at the end of first period.
The Attack (17-4-0-1) sits in second place in the Eastern Conference with 35 points. The Attack will await the outcome of the final two regular season games to be played by the Montreal Mission, who has 33 points.
If the Attack keeps second in the conference, it will automatically receive a bye to the Canadian Ringette Championships in Winnipeg. If Montreal leaps ahead of the Attack, the team will play a best-of-three series against the eighth-place team in the East.
