CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Colin Goodwin’s first period goal proved all the Mid-Isle Matrix needed in a 6-0 shutout of the Moncton Hawks on Sunday in Crapaud.
Goodwin added two assists in the P.E.I.-New Brunswick midget AAA interlocking game, while Landon Hardy chipped in two goals and an assist. Kyler Weeks, Lucas Buch and Carson MacKay had the other Mid-Isle goals.
Nathan Mahar and Malcolm MacDonald each tallied two helpers.
Ty Arsenault earned the goaltending win and his first shutout of the season over Lucas Burrows.
Mid-Isle led 2-0 after the first period and 5-0 at the second intermission.
The teams went a combined 0-for-4 on the power play.
