CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Will Levasseur’s goal with 11 minutes remaining in the third period was the winner Monday as the Sherwood Metros hung on for a 4-3 victory over the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch.

The Metros lead the Razzy’s Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League semifinal 3-0. They can complete the sweep of the best-of-seven series Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Slemon Park.

Ethan Larocque had two goals and an assist and Daniel Collister a goal and two helpers in the win at Cody Banks Arena. Marc Cummiskey had two assists while Nick Brown and Shawn Corney each added one.

The Metros held 1-0 and 3-1 period leads before Levasseur made it 4-1.

Kolton Stright scored shorthanded with 9:21 remaining and James Birt got the Crunch within a goal two minutes later, but that would be as close as Summerside would get.

Sumner Dochety made 23 saves for the win while Jaxon Lamont stopped 45 shots in the loss.

Both teams were 0-for-4 on the power play.
