WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Former Holland College Hurricane Eugene McMinns is the Atlantic University Sport football special teams player of the week.

Thhe third-year community development student at Acadia University in his second year of eligibility from Nassau, Bahamas, made several keys plays on both special teams and offence in the Axemen’s 45-38 win over Saint Mary’s in the Tuesday’s Subway Loney Bowl.

On special teams, he had six kickoff returns for 148 yards and three punt returns for 66 yards. On offence, he had six receptions for 114 yards and a receiving touchdown, as well as two carries for 17 yards.

Acadia’s running back Cameron Davidson and defensive back Rory Kelly were the offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively.

The Axemen won 45-38 to advance to host the Western Mustangs Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the U SPORTS Uteck Bowl.
