SYDNEY, N.S. — A pair of hockey players with Cape Breton connections were named to the Maritime Junior Hockey League team of the week on Tuesday.
Forward David Matthews of Louisdale and Cape Breton Eagles defence prospect Jacob Christie, who also has connections to Sydney, were named to the Eastlink South team for the week ending Nov. 22.
Matthews appeared in two games for the Valley Wildcats and recorded three assists. Christie had one assist in one game for the Truro Bearcats.
