CARDIGAN, P.E.I. – The Cardigan Clippers defeated the Northside Brewers 11-10 in a see-saw battle Wednesday in Cardigan in Kings County Baseball League action.

Cardigan jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first, but the Brewers tied it in the top of the second. The Brewers added six runs in the third to take a commanding 8-2 lead before the home side responded with four in the bottom of the inning to close the gap to 8-6.

The Clippers bats stayed hot with five runs in the fourth off Tyson Blue, who came in to the game in relief of starter Jayden Maclean, to put them up 11-8.

Clippers pitcher Charles Maclellan relieved Sam Walsh in the seventh with two runners on and none out. The Brewers pushed two runs across off Maclellan to make things interesting, but Maclellan struck out the side to get the save.

Walsh earned the win in relief of Kevin Macleod while Blue suffered the loss.

Macleod, Maclellan and Quinn Hughes were all 3-for-4 in the win while Ben Doucette went 2-for-4 with a double.

Will Jadis was 3-for-4 to spark the Brewers offence while Bryan Linton and Nick Ryan were 2-for-4. Linton and Nigel Fisher each doubled for the Brewers.
