CRAPAUD, P.E.I. – The Southside MacDonald’s Excavation/EF MacPhee Lynx split a pair of weekend games in the Razzy’s Junior C Hockey League.

The Lynx lost 8-4 Friday to the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch before defeating the North River Flames 4-3 on Saturday.

Lynx 4, Flames 3

Daniel Collister and Tyson Beckingham each scored twice in the Lynx win at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud.
Nick Vandervelden had three assists while Chandler Dawson added one.

Tyson Gillis scored twice for the Flames while Connor Andrews had the other. Connor Gauthier recorded a pair of helpers while Ethan MacFadyen and Kyle Doucette both chipped in one.

Chandler Toombs had 28 saves in the win while Connor Chapman stopped 15 shots in the loss.

The Lynx held 2-0 and 3-2 period leads.

Southside is 4-7-2 while the Flames are 3-10-1.

Crunch 8, Lynx 4

Bret Cheverie had a goal and four assists to lead the Crunch to victory.

Tristan Gallant had two goals and an assist while Remi Arsenault added a goal and two helpers in the win at Slemon Park.

Tyler Power chipped in a pair of goals while Kolton Stright and Brandon Hastings each had a goal and an assist. Marc-Andre Gallant and Parker LeClair each added two assists and Monty Desreux had one.

Collister, Vandervelden, Krystof Wigmore and Alex McCarron scored for the Lynx. Beckingham had two assists while Tyler Jurkowski, Rhys Caseley and Nathan Paynter all added one.

Devon Newberry had 37 saves in the win. Caelen Ferguson allowed four goals on 27 shots in 39 minutes while Collister gave up four on 16 shots in 21 minutes.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first period and Summerside took a 4-2 lead to the third. The Crunch improved to 5-7-0, good for third place in the five-team circuit.
