CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The UPEI Panthers jumped two spots in the U SPORTS women’s hockey national rankings released on Tuesday afternoon.
The Panthers, who were ranked No. 8 last week, are now the sixth-ranked team in Canada.
UPEI, which is second in the Atlantic University Sport conference at 11-2-1 (won-lost-overtime losses), won two games last week – 5-2 at Mount Allison (2-11-1) and a 4-0 home-ice shutout over the first-place Saint Mary’s Huskies (12-2-0).
The Bruce Donaldson-coached Panthers travel to Fredericton, N.B., this weekend for a pair of games. UPEI visits St. Thomas (7-7-0) on Friday and UNB (9-5-0) on Saturday.
