LANGLEY, B.C. — P.E.I.’s Tyler Smith rink from the Montague Curling Rink defeated Quebec 8-4 on Sunday night to improve to 3-0 (won-lost) at the 2020 New Holland Canadian junior curling championships in Langley, B.C.
Smith, third stone Ryan Abraham, second stone Jake Flemming and lead Ryan Lowery are back on the ice with two draws Monday evening against Northern Ontario and Nova Scotia.
In junior women’s play, P.E.I.’s Lauren Ferguson team out of the Cornwall Curling Club sat at 0-3 following Sunday’s play.
Ferguson, third stone Sydney Howatt, second stone Kristie Rogers and lead Rachel O’Connor suffered a pair of losses on Sunday – 9-6 to Quebec and 9-5 against Nova Scotia.
Ferguson’s lone game Monday is an early-evening start against New Brunswick.

Lenentine playing with Manitoba
The Mackenzie Zacharias junior women’s squad from Manitoba, which includes former P.E.I. junior champion Lauren Lenentine playing the lead position, is 3-0, following a 6-4 win over Quebec, also in Sunday’s late draw.
