TIGNISH, P.E.I. — The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces are one win away from winning the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League championship.

The Aces defeated the Georgetown Tri County Insulfoam IceDogs 5-1 on Sunday night to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five final series.

The Aces opened the series with a 5-4 overtime win on the road Saturday night. Game 3 is scheduled for the Pownal Sports Centre on Tuesday at 7:50 p.m.

At the Tignish Credit Union Arena, Thomas Shea (1-1), Oliver Smallman (1-1), James Doyle, Nathan Grigg and Dawson Sellick scored for the Aces. Tristan Cahill (2), Alex Arthur and Devon Sherren added assists.

Cole Mosher, assisted by Jacob MacEachern, netted the lone goal for the IceDogs.

The Aces built period leads of 3-0 and 5-0.

Colin Gaudette blocked 35 of 36 shots directed his way to record the goaltending win. Georgetown goaltender Summer Pippy-Docherty stopped 20 of 25 shots.
