STRATFORD, P.E.I. — The Alley Stratford Athletics defeated the Cardigan Clippers 10-3 Sunday to take a 2-0 series lead in the best-of-five Kings County Baseball League semifinal.
The defending champs will look to complete the sweep with a victory in Game 3 Wednesday in Stratford. The start time is tentatively set for 7:30 p.m.
Tyler Taylor went five strong innings for the victory for the A’s while Gabe Penalver completed the game with two innings of relief.
Isaac Compton was tagged with the loss.
The A's were led at the plate by Randy Taylor, who went 2-for-2 with two doubles and four RBI, and Shawn MacDougall, who went 2-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI.
Ben Doucette was 2-for-3 to pace the Clippers.
