STRATFORD, P.E.I. — The Alley Stratford Athletics defeated the Morell Chevies 6-3 Thursday to take Game 1 of the Kings County Baseball League final.
Game 2 of the best-of-seven championship series goes Sunday at 4 p.m. in Morell.
Pitcher Brady Arsenault went 6 1/3 innings for the win Thursday with Jonathan Arsenault recording the final two outs for the save.
Taylor Larkin took the loss with relief from Logan Gallant.
The A's broke open a 2-2 game with four runs in the bottom of the fifth, keyed by a Grant Grady leadoff triple and a two-run double by Randy Taylor.
Taylor finished with two hits and three RBI while Ryne MacIsaac chipped in two hits. The Chevies were led by Desi Doyle, who had a three-hit night.
