SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals have jumped one spot in this week’s Canadian Junior Hockey League top-20 rankings.

The Caps are now ranked second in the country, behind only the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta circuit. Summerside (38-6-0-2) can clinch first place in the Maritime Junior Hockey League with one more win while the Crusaders are 45-8-0.

Rounding out the top five are the Coquitlam Express from British Columbia, Okotoks Oilers from Alberta and the Battlefords North Stars from Saskatchewan. The rankings, compiled weekly by an independent scouting service, were released Monday.

The Edmundston Blizzard (30-9-1-6) was the only other Maritime squad to earn some recognition. They are an honourable mention this week.

The Blizzard comes to Summerside Thursday to play the Capitals.
