SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Three Summerside tackle football teams will close out their 2019 regular-season schedules on the road against the Charlottetown Privateers on Sunday.
The Cox and Palmer Spartans and Privateers will meet in a first-place showdown in the atom league at 11 a.m.
The Spartans are 2-0-1 (won-lost-tied) and the Privateers enter with a 1-1-1 record.
On the bantam side, the Summerside Waterwise Spartans (3-2) will finish the regular season in second place regardless of Sunday’s 1 p.m. start against the undefeated Privateers (5-0).
In varsity play, the Summerside Cooke Insurance Clippers need a win against the Privateers (2-3) to clinch first place. Summerside and Cornwall enter the final weekend of play tied with 4-1 records, but the Clippers hold the tiebreaker.
