Shields, Arsenault pace Aces past Crunch

CRAPAUD, P.E.I. — Draven Shields scored three goals and Kane Arsenault added three assists to lead the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces to a 9-3 win over the Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud on Thursday night.
Nick Vandervelden (2), Jacob Hogan (1-1), Will Tuplin (1-1), Brayden Handrahan (1-1) and Oliver Smallman (1-1) also scored for the Aces in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League game. Giles McInnis, Chandler Dawson and Aaron Feehan replied for the Crunch.
Tignish built period leads of 5-1 and 7-1.
Winning goaltender McGuire Gallant made 24 saves. Devon Newberry had a much busier night in the Crunch goal, stopping 51 of 60 shots.
Tignish improved to 6-1-1 (won-lost-overtime losses) and Summerside fell to 1-5-0.
