Sherwood beats Tignish on Munro's power-play goal in P.E.I. junior C hockey

Robbie Munro’s second of the game with nine seconds remaining was the winner Monday as the Sherwood Metros defeated the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces 5-4.
Bret Cheverie added a goal and two assists in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League victory at Cody Banks Arena while Remi Arsenault and Matt Dunn each had a goal and a helper. Parker Gallant had two helpers for the Metros while singles went to Parker Cameron, Quaid Costello, Tanner Gallant and Isaac McCabe.
Ethan Rix had a goal and an assist for the visitors while Alex Arthur, Tristan Cahill and Oliver Smallman also scored. Brayden Handrahan had two helpers with singles going to Lexin Gaudet, Nathan Grigg, Alex McRae and Thomas Shea.
Devon Newberry made 35 saves for the win while Colin Gaudette had 37 stops in the loss.
The Aces led 1-0 after the first period but trailed 4-3 heading to the third. Cahill tied the game on a power play with 7:10 remaining.
A goalie interference penalty with 1:11 showing on the clock gave the Metros a man advantage and they were able to cash in. Sherwood went 2-for-6 on the power play while Tignish was 3-for-6.
Sherwood improved to 3-11-0 while Tignish dropped to 10-5-0.
