MONTAGUE, P.E.I. — Dylan Wheatley scored two goals, including the winner, Tuesday as the Kensington Moase Plumbing & Heating Vipers defeated the Hynes Paving Maniacs 5-2 in Island Junior Hockey League action.
Tayler Read (1-2) and Riley Gallant (0-3) each had three-point nights in the road victory at the Montague Wellness Centre. Ryan Richards and Logan Vandervelden each had a goal while Jesse Jay and Morgan Darbyson each chipped in a helper.
Jacob MacEachern and Dawson Palmer scored for the home side. Cameron Nelson had two assists while Jason Poley and Kyle Martin each contributed one.
Jonah Arbing made 33 saves for the win while Cam Duffy turned aside 45 shots in the loss.
The Vipers, who held 2-0 and 3-1 period leads, went 1-for-3 on the power play while the Maniacs were 1-for-4.
Kensington (6-5-1) is seven points up on the Maniacs (3-14-0) for third place in the four-team circuit.
