Peyton traded to Mooseheads by Islanders

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Charlottetown Islanders have traded Liam Peyton to the Halifax Mooseheads.

In return, the Isles received a ninth-round pick (150th overall) in 2020 and a fourth-round pick in 2021.

The Islanders acquired goalie Colten Ellis early Saturday morning, giving them four overage players. Charlottetown also had forwards Thomas Casey and Cedric Desruisseaux.

Peyton had 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points and 68 penalty minutes in 60 games last season. His mother’s family is from Nova Scotia.
