SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Prince Edward Island School Athletic Association (PEISAA) has cancelled its sporting activities for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.
The decision was officially made at an executive meeting on Wednesday due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19 strain) pandemic and students not returning to school.

“The PEISAA is committed to protecting the health and safety of our student-athletes, staff, coaches, officials, member-schools and the health of all of our fellow Islanders,” the association said in a release Thursday.
