MOOSE JAW, Sask. — P.E.I. was eliminated from playoff contention Friday at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Sask.
The Suzanne Birt-skipped rink from the Montague Curling Club lost 6-5 to Northern Ontario (Krista McCarville) and 5-3 to Canada (Chelsea Carey) in championship round play. They completed the week in a three-way tie with Canada and British Columbia (Corryn Brown) for sixth with a 5-6 record.
The P.E.I. squad included vice-skip Marie Christianson, second Meaghan Hughes, lead Michelle McQuaid and coach Mitch O’Shea.
When Suzanne Birt's career is over, her stats from the Scotties will not do her justice. Her teams never give up, always seem to stick around and usually find a way to make the other teams grind late in games. #Respect @teambirt #STOH2020
