ANTIGONISH, N.S. — Summerside’s Lydia Schurman scored the winner Friday to lead her St. FX X-Women to a 2-0 victory over the UPEI Panthers in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action.
Jamie Johnson recorded the 22-save shutout in Antigonish, N.S., while Camille Scherger stopped 32 shots in the loss.
Patti-Anne Tracey had the other goal as St. FX won its seventh straight game while Emerson Elliott, Lea MacLeod and Amy Graham had the assists.
The X-Women held 1-0 and 2-0 period leads.
UPEI went 0-for-3 on the power play while St. FX was 0-for-4.
St. FX and UPEI are now tied for second place with 17-5-1 records, two points back of Saint Mary’s (18-4-1).
The Panthers host the UNB Reds (14-8-0) Sunday at 3 p.m. in their annual pink at the rink game.
