PEAKES, P.E.I. — Stephen O’Shea had the game-winning hit and Ben MacDougall earned a complete-game victory as the Morell Chevies defeated the Peakes Tee Bombers 2-0 Sunday in Peakes.

The Chevies will look to complete the sweep of the best-of-five Kings County Baseball League semifinal Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Memorial Field.

Sunday afternoon’s contest was a pitchers’ duel with both teams trading hits throughout but neither squad was able to push across a run until the ninth inning.

Matt Barlow led off the rally with a walk, Taylor Larkin reached safely on a fielder's choice and an intentional walk to Logan Gallant set the table for O’Shea, who hit a single to left field to score Larkin and Barlow.

MacDougall shut the door in the bottom half of the ninth to secure the win. He allowed five hits, walked four and struck out six in the victory.

Josh Coffin was tagged with the loss, allowing two runs on a hit and a walk while striking out one in two innings of relief. Starter Rob Phelan allowed 10 hits and three walks while recording three strikeouts in seven-plus innings of work.

Scott Harper went 3-for-5 with a double to pace the Chevies’ attack while Larkin was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run.

Tyson McInnis was 2-for-4 to lead the Bombers while Jack MacKenzie was 1-for-3 and Connor Myers 1-for-2 with a walk.
