Northern's Guignard makes 43 saves in win over Charlottetown Knights

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Daniel Khatib’s goal 13 minutes into the third period was the winner Friday as the Northern Moose defeated the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights 3-2.

William Schofield and Jake Parker also scored in the New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League win at MacLauchlan Arena.

Jesse Blanchard had a goal and an assist for the Knights while captain Max Chisholm also scored.

Pierre-Vincent Guignard stopped 43 shots for the win while Aiden William made 20 saves in the loss.

Northern led 1-0 after the first period while the teams went to the third tied 2-2. Both teams went 0-for-1 on the power play.

Northern improved to 9-9-1 while Charlottetown is 5-12-2. The Knights host the Fredericton Caps (11-10-0) tonight at 7 p.m.
