MONTAGUE, P.E.I. — Connor Morrissey had a hat trick and Isaac Knox had a goal and three assists Tuesday as the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings thumped the Hynes Paving Maniacs 9-2 in Island Junior Hockey League action.

Isaac Callaghan had a goal and two assists while Ethan Beaulieu, Jack DesRoches and Alex Morrissey each contributed a goal and an assist. Thomas Rennie rounded out the scoring for the visitors at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Montague.

Austin Arsenault and Chandler Wood each had two assists while singles went to Austin Callaghan and Silas Handrahan.

Drew Bowman had both of the Maniacs’ goals while Elliott Parker had two assists and Ben MacIsaac one.

Carter Champion stopped 19 shots in the win while Alex Condon made 36 saves in the loss.

The league-leading Red Wings (15-2-0) held 4-1 and 7-2 period leads over the last-place Maniacs (1-15-0), who travel to Charlottetown Wednesday for an 8 p.m. game with the Sherwood Metros at Cody Banks Arena.
