MONCTON, N.B. — Alex Lafreniere scored twice to lead the Moncton Vitos to a 4-2 victory over the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers on Saturday night.

The Superior Propane Centre in Moncton, N.B., was the site of the interlocking game between the Island Junior Hockey League and New Brunswick Junior Hockey League. The two teams are scheduled to close out the home-and-home series in Kensington on Sunday at 7 p.m.
Christian Richard and Chris Dunham also scored for the Vitos.
Tayler Read and Riley Gallant countered for the Vipers, who dropped to 9-10-2 (won-lost-overtime losses).
The teams were tied 1-1 after the first period and the Vitos were in front 2-1 at the end of the second.
Winning goaltender Brandon McKenna finished with 28 saves while Vipers goaltender Ben Parent had a busier night, blocking 35 of 38 shots.
