CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A pair of Cape Breton minor hockey teams will be in Charlottetown this weekend for the annual Spud hockey tournament.
The Glace Bay Miners will participate in the Atom ‘AAA’ division.
The Miners opened the tournament Friday with an 8-1 win over the Kings County Kings of P.E.I. Glace Bay was scheduled to play the Bedford Blues Friday evening, but the score was not available at press time.
The Cape Breton West Islanders will take part in the Peewee ‘AAA’ division.
The Islanders began the tournament on Friday with a 4-3 win over the EDZA South Warriors. Cape Breton West was scheduled to play the West Kent Aces Friday evening; however the score was not available.
