SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. —

A pair of Islanders and a member of the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals were recognized Tuesday by the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL).

Charlottetown’s Connor McGregor made the Eastlink North Division’s team of the week while Mount Albion’s Dylan Matthews was on the south division squad.

Capitals’ goalie Stephan Giansante was the north division netminder after stopping 20 of 21 shots Saturday in a 3-1 win over South Shore. The 19-year-old from Toronto is 1-1 with a 1.51 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage this season.

McGregor, a 20-year-old right-winger with the Miramichi Timberwolves, had two goals and four assists in two games. He has 12 points in seven games this season.

Matthews, a 19-year-old left-winger with the Valley Wildcats, had three helpers in two games. He has five assists in nine games.
