CRAPAUD, P.E.I. — The Sherwood Metros scored five unanswered goal to defeat the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch 5-2 Saturday in Razzy’s Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League action.

Parker Cameron had given the host Crunch a 2-0 lead six minutes into the second period at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud. But Will Mingo, Michael Jenkin and Marc Cummiskey scored to give the Metros a 3-2 lead heading to the third. Ridge Crane and Sam Valtois rounded out the scoring.

Cummiskey and Alex MacEachern each had two assists for the Metros while singles went to Jenkins, Mingo, Riley Watts and Hunter Boudreau.

Keegan Wagner had two assists for the Crunch while Thomas Ford had one.

Keenan Hayden made 30 saves for the win while Devon Newberry stopped 43 shots in the loss.

Sherwood went 1-for-3 on the power play and killed all six of the Crunch’s attempts with the man advantage.

The Metros improved to 3-7-0 and sit two points ahead of the Crunch (2-6-0) for third place in the five-team league.
