CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers used a five-goal second period to defeat the A&S Scrap Metal Metros 7-4 Wednesday in Island Junior Hockey League action.

Dixon MacLeod had a goal and two assists to pace the Vipers at Cody Banks Arena while Tyler Gallant, Tayler Read and Duncan Picketts each had a goal and an assist. Nick Trainor, Brett Ballum and Malcolm MacEachern rounded out the scoring for the visitors.

Ryan Richards had two helpers while singles were credited to Brett MacDonald, Colin Goodwin, Matt Lank, Dawson MacCormack and Kalib Snow.

Teddy Robins, Nick Steele and Grant MacAdam each had a goal and assist while Cale Pierce rounded out the scoring for the home side. Noah Griffin had two assists while Keegan Mitchell, Josh Dow and Luke Garnum each added one.

Ben Parent stopped 24 shots for the win while Matt Jelley was peppered with 37 shots in the loss.

The Vipers, who held 2-0 and 7-2 period leads, improved to 9-5-0 while the Metros are 8-7-2.
