CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Sherwood Drug Mart Central Attack scored three second-period goals to defeat the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils 3-2 Thursday in a battle for first place in the P.E.I. Under-18 Hockey League.
Central (7-1-2) is two points up on Pownal (6-3-2) for top spot in the five-team circuit. A rematch is set for Monday at 7:40 p.m. in Pownal.
Tyler MacKinnon’s goal with a minute remaining in the middle stanza was the winner Thursday at Cody Banks Arena.
Ethan MacDonald and Josh Lund also scored in the win while Ryan Harper, Tyler Worth, MacDonald, Noah Dow, Lund and Chris Koughlan were credited with assists.
Jack Dwyer and Nathan Campbell scored for Pownal while Aiden Drake had two assists and Matt Valois one.
Keegan Duffy earned the win while Ethan Smith took the loss.
The game was scoreless after the first period while Central took a 3-1 lead to the third.
