Lenentine rink goes undefeated to win under-13 curling crown

MONTAGUE, P.E.I. — The Ella Lenentine rink from the Cornwall Curling Club went undefeated to win the P.E.I. under-13 open curling championship at the Montague Curling Club recently.

Lenentine, third Mollie Shaw, second Makiya Noonan and lead Kacey Gauthier posted a 6-0 record in the seven-team round-robin event.

The Nate Young team from the Silver Fox Curling Club in Summerside finished second with a 4-2 record, followed by three teams, skipped by Reid Hart of the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary, Madalyn Easter from the Silver Fox and Cornwall’s Jonas MacLellan, at 3-3.

Reid Hart received the sportsmanship award, as voted on by the players, and coaching award, while the Hart rink’s Bobbi Jean Boylan won the coaching award, as voted on by the coaches and officials.
