SHERBROOKE, Que. — Mermaid defenceman Cole Larkin scored his first career goal in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Friday night.

The six-foot-two, 175-pound blue-liner scored 8:20 into the second period as his Acadie-Bathurst Titan lost 10-1 to the first-place Phoenix in Sherbrooke, Que.

Larkin, 17, has a goal and eight assists for nine points in 80 career games. He was selected in the second round of the 2018 draft by the Halifax Mooseheads and traded to the Titan on Sept. 21, 2018, as part of a package for Samuel Asselin. He played 1 1/2 seasons for the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride.
