CORNWALL, P.E.I. — Noah Griffin scored the winner with 8:38 remaining in regulation Monday as the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild defeated the Northern Moose 2-1 in New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League action.
All the scoring took place in the third period.
Will Proud gave the Wild the lead 7:24 into the final frame at the APM Centre in Cornwall but the lead was short lived as Jake Parker tied it 1:25 later.
Reid Vos has two assists for the Wild while Sam MacNeill and Dixon MacLeod each chipped in one.
Jonah Arbing made 29 saves for the victory while Samuel Landry stopped 28 shots in the loss.
Kensington was 0-for-1 on the power play and killed all five of the Moose’s chances with man advantage.
The Wild improved to 21-11-3 while the Moose is 13-18-4. The teams play Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Bathurst, N.B. The Wild is in Charlottetown Friday for a 7 p.m. contest with the Bulk Carriers Knights before hosting the Saint John Vitos Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
