KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — The Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild look to keep a good thing rolling Friday night in Saint John, N.B.

The Wild (10-4-2) puts it five-game win streak on the line when it plays the Saint John Vitos (6-12-0) at 8 p.m. in New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League action.

The Wild completes weekend play by travelling to Charlottetown Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest with the Bulk Carriers Knights (5-9-2).

“We have two good teams that are going to be competitive – Saint John and Charlottetown,” said head coach Kyle Dunn. “We just want to be ready for Friday night.”

Kensington has gone 3-0 against Saint John this season, winning 4-1 on Oct. 4, 4-2 on Nov. 2 and 6-4 on Nov. 8.

Carter McCluskey leads the Vitos in scoring and is second in the league with 32 points (16 goals and 16 assists) in 18 games. Teammate Jake Kyle is fourth in the six-team circuit with 23 points (nine goals and 14 assists) in 18 games.

“Those guys are good hockey players,” Dunn said. “We expect a 20-man performance this week. Everybody has to be pulling on the rope for us this weekend.”

Austin Arsenault leads the Wild with 20 points (eight goals and 12 assists) in 16 games. Alex Graham and Donovan Arsenault are tied for second with 19 points. Graham has 14 goals in 14 games while Donovan Arsenault has 10 goals in 16 games.

Jonah Arbing and Josh Smith have each played eight games for the Wild this season.

The Wild is dealing with injuries to its lineup.

Isaac Vos, Dixon MacLeod and Noah Griffin are out for the weekend while Thomas Rennie and Duncan Picketts are day-to-day. Joining the squad tonight are affiliate players (AP) Jamie Collins and Bates Ling from the Sherwood Dug Mart Central Attack midget AAA team while Sam Bowness and Graysen LaPorte from the Mid-Isle Matrix bantam AAA squad will play Saturday.

“We are still hurting but we have some great APs that are coming . . . this weekend to help out,” Dunn said.
