POWNAL, P.E.I. — James Wood scored the winner with 29 seconds left in overtime Thursday as the Eastern Express defeated the Prince County Warriors 8-7 in Prince Edward Island Major Bantam AAA Hockey League action.

The Express held 4-3 and 7-6 period leads before Patrick Shea scored the equalized with 8:13 left in the third period.

Wood had three goals and an assist while Caleb MacDonald had a goal and three helpers to pace the Express attack at the Pownal Sports Centre. Ross Campbell scored twice while Dawson Sharkey had a goal and two assists and Jude Campbell a goal and an assist.

Owen MacPherson, Evan Nicholson, Tanton Woodridge and Mason Power each chipped in an assist.

Ethan Dickson recorded a hat trick for the Warriors while Clark Allain and Shea each had two goals. Allain, Beau Dawson and Lincoln Waugh each had an assist.

Woodridge earned the victory while George Gallant took the loss.

Prince County went 2-for-4 on the power play and killed all four of Eastern’s chances with the man advantage.

Eastern improved to 7-6-1-0 while Prince County is 1-7-1-1.
