BATHURST, N.B. — The Acadie-Bathurst Titan lost its first nine home games of this year’s regular season but has since rolled off three straight victories after defeating the Charlottetown Islanders 3-2 in overtime Saturday in Bathurst, N.B.

The Islanders held 1-0 and 2-1 period leads but Titan captain Shawn Element tied the game with 4:50 left to play and Cole Huckins scored the winner three minutes into overtime during Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Logan Chisholm scored the other regulation goal for the Titan. Yan Aucoin had two assists while Mathieu Desgagnes, Remy Anglehart, goalie Tristan Berube and Mermaid’s Cole Larkin each had one.

Brett Budgell scored shorthanded for the Islanders while Keiran Gallant tallied his first in the QMJHL. Both goals were unassisted.

Berube stopped 33 shots for the win while Jacob Goobie made 25 stops in the loss.

The Titan went 1-for-3 on the power play while Charlottetown didn't have an opportunity to play with the man advantage. Acadie-Bathurst improved to 3-13-3-3 while Charlottetown is 12-7-4-0.

The Islanders host the Eastern Conference-leading Moncton Wildcats (17-4-0-0) today at 3 p.m. It will be Summerside’s Jeremy McKenna’s first game on the Island since returning from pro hockey. The Islanders lost 3-2 to the Wildcats Thursday in Moncton.
