WATERLOO, Ont. — The Island Storm dropped the first game of its four-game Ontario road trip Tuesday afternoon.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Titans defeated the Storm 116-104 in a game that started at 11 a.m. Eastern.

Jared Nickens had 23 points off the bench for the Titans while former Storm forward Akeem Ellis had 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Alex Campbell had 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Storm while Nathaniel Wright had 20 points and seven rebounds and Antwon Lillard chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Darnell Landon contributed 17 points and five rebounds off the bench.

The home side led 22-21 after the first quarter and increased the lead to 58-43 at the half and 98-68 heading to the fourth quarter.

The Titan shot better from the floor (46-38 per cent) and three-point territory (42-37) while the Storm held the advantage at the free-throw line (81-68).

The Titan improved to 2-6 while the Storm is 5-3. The Storm’s road trip continues Thursday in London against the Lightning.
